Safety is the cornerstone of elegant driving. On the afternoon of October 20, Chery Group’s new global NEV brand LEPAS will open its safety testing program to the public for the first time—demonstrating its unwavering commitment to user safety through a series of multi-dimensional, real-world tests.
As a key segment of the 2025 Chery International User Summit, the test will follow principles of authenticity, visibility, and verifiability. It will simulate extreme driving scenarios users may encounter in daily life, including underbody scraping, deep-water wading, and crash rollover tests—providing the first-ever public demonstration of the LEPAS L8’s safety performance under extreme conditions.

The underbody scraping test will replicate the vehicle bottoming out on rough terrain, directly testing the LEPAS L8’s durability in harsh road conditions. Engineers will assess whether the chassis mounting points remain intact, whether the battery pack leaks or ignites, and whether the pack’s air-tightness and insulation resistance meet safety standards.
In the deep-water wading test, the LEPAS L8 will challenge a 600mm water depth—well beyond industry norms. The test will ensure zero water ingress, zero electrical leakage, and zero system failure, proving that the vehicle maintains strong reliability and passability even in extreme weather conditions—delivering true all-weather protection.
The most anticipated highlight, the crash rollover test, will feature a female dummy in the driver’s seat, a male dummy in the front passenger seat, and a child seat in the rear—offering a realistic look at cabin safety across occupants. The test will showcase the LEPAS L8’s six-cell body structure and six collision sensors, the most in its class. This design enables precise triggering of the protection system during impact, maximizing occupant safety. Key evaluation metrics include body structure integrity, airbag deployment timing, and E-CALL automatic emergency response performance.
Positioned as the “Preferred Brand for Elegant Mobility Life”. LEPAS integrates its “elegant technology” philosophy not only into design and intelligence, but also into an uncompromising pursuit of safety. Opening this safety test to the public marks a clear statement: true elegance is built upon confidence and composure backed by five-star safety rating.
Drawing on Chery Group’s 28 years of automotive expertise and the synergistic innovation of its eight global R&D centers, LEPAS has made safety a fundamental metric from the earliest stages of product development. From its innovative six-cell body structure to its advanced intelligent safety systems, every technology serves one purpose—to deliver comprehensive protection and reinforce the safety foundation of LEPAS’s “Drive Your Elegance” brand promise.

On the afternoon of October 20, at the Chery Automobile Longshan Experiment Center in Wuhu, LEPAS invites you to witness this rigorous safety trial firsthand and to experience the uncompromising protection that powers truly elegant driving.
